Not Enough is part of my Whisperwild series — a collection where I explore emotions through wild animals and nature.
This painting is about that moment in motherhood when your child is already growing away from you — ready to live their own life — and you feel like no matter how much love you give, it’s not enough to keep them close. It’s a tender, slightly aching feeling, full of love, pride, and sadness all at once.
I used acrylic paint with fine ink details to bring softness and contrast to the wildflowers around the fox.
